The Banned Lecture of Getting Higher by Julian Vayne

Regular price £3.00

Occultist and writer Julian Vayne, author of Getting Higher: The Manual of Psychedelic Ceremony, was recently banned from speaking at the Oxford Psychedelic Society by the administrators at one of the University's colleges. His crime? Being on record as having taken, and advocated for, psychedelic substances.

This is not the first time someone from his community has received such treatment from one of the UK's most esteemed institutions. The Great Beast, Aleister Crowley, was similarly banned from the Oxford Poetry Society in 1930.

Crowley decided to print his lecture as a pamphlet to raise money for the Poetry Society instead. So it is that Julian has done the same.

The Banned Lecture of Getting Higher not only includes his lecture (ironically on methods of inducing non-drug altered states), but also an introduction discussing Crowley's misadventures and some of Oxford's own history with psychoactive substances.

The profits from this publication will be donated to the Oxford Psychedelic Society.
